Lavrov to Attend Alaska Summit

Fadeyev stated during a media briefing on Wednesday, “Yes, I confirm Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov’s participation in this summit, scheduled to be held in Alaska next Friday.” Despite the numerous files expected to be discussed between the presidents, foremost among them the Ukrainian issue, it is anticipated that there will be agreements on certain matters, especially given the intersecting interests of both countries in the region and the impact of the Ukrainian crisis on the situation in the Middle East. Additionally, the Palestinian issue, which represents a focal point of tensions in the region, will be discussed. Experts anticipate that many issues in the region could move towards resolution if an understanding is reached between Putin and Trump in the near term, though this may not be fully resolved in the first meeting.
