The Lebanese Army Command released a statement on Wednesday evening confirming that the Directorate of Intelligence successfully freed the kidnapped Kuwaiti citizen who was abducted on November 1st. It was clarified that two Lebanese citizens and a Syrian citizen involved in the kidnapping were arrested in the Saadnayel – Zahle area.

The statement noted that during the arrest, the first suspect fired at the Directorate’s personnel, who returned fire, but no injuries were reported. The vehicle used in the kidnapping was also seized.

The Lebanese military statement mentioned that the seized items were handed over, and the investigation with the detainees has commenced under judicial supervision.

It is worth noting that on October 20th, the Lebanese Army, through a statement from the Directorate of Guidance, announced that the Directorate of Intelligence succeeded in freeing two kidnapped Iraqi citizens in the Al-Qaa Projects area near the Lebanese-Syrian border. This was a result of a series of raids and precise security follow-up, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.

The statement explained that the kidnapped individuals were lured on September 1, 2025, from Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut and taken to Syrian territory, where the kidnappers demanded a ransom for their release. The Directorate of Intelligence was able to arrest two Syrian individuals for their involvement in the operation.
