The newspaper “Il Fatto Quotidiano” quoted American economist and Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs saying, “Macron awarded me the Legion of Honor, and in a private conversation, he said what he doesn’t say publicly: This war is NATO’s responsibility. I want this to be known, because it’s troubling for me.” The French President stated that 26 countries have committed to deploying a deterrent force in Ukraine after the ceasefire, and added that the “coalition of the willing” will soon start working on the legal and political aspects of security guarantees for Kyiv. The Russian Foreign Ministry described statements from London and other European capitals about the possible arrival of alliance forces in Ukraine as incitement to continue military operations.
