Massive Protests Erupt in Israel Over Gaza Hostages
The Israeli newspaper ‘Yedioth Ahronoth’ reported on Saturday evening that Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa witnessed massive marches, and demonstrations were organized in several other locations within Israel. It confirmed that about a thousand protesters marched in a demonstration in front of the Prime Minister’s residence after the forced evacuation of the families of Israeli hostages and prisoners held in the Gaza Strip from there. The newspaper reported that the police expelled them from in front of Netanyahu’s house, where the brother of hostage Nimrod Cohen sent a message to US President Donald Trump saying: ‘Netanyahu is destroying your legacy, do not allow him to do so.’ Meanwhile, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that Israeli police did not allow the families of the prisoners and hostages to approach the barriers set up around, while police elements rebuked Knesset member Naama Lazimi from in front of those barriers. The Israeli army announced last Tuesday that it had begun advancing towards Gaza City, to liberate the Israeli captives, as it claimed. Gaza City witnessed the most violent Israeli attacks on Monday night, where Israel launched an intense attack on the city, preparing for a ground operation in the city. According to local media, the daily Israeli raids continue as usual, bombing towers and residential buildings in Gaza City.
