The two parties discussed regional developments in the Middle East, with a focus on the Gaza Strip, according to the Emirates News Agency “WAM”. They affirmed the commitment of both countries to support efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the region. Both sides emphasized the importance of progressing towards a lasting and just peace based on the “two-state solution,” considering it the optimal path to ensure regional stability and achieve a prosperous future for its people.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated on Tuesday that Britain will recognize Palestine at the United Nations General Assembly in September unless Israel agrees to a ceasefire in Gaza and takes steps to end the dire situation in the Strip. He added: “We do not equate Israel with Hamas, and our demands from the Palestinian movement remain, and we are committed to conducting an assessment before the United Nations General Assembly on the extent to which both parties have committed to these steps before making a final decision.”
Earlier, the French President announced that he has decided to officially recognize the State of Palestine at the United Nations General Assembly in September. Macron stated in a post on his “X” account: “In fulfillment of its historical commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, France has decided to recognize the State of Palestine.”
