The film, directed by Jeethu Joseph, features the Dadasaheb Phalke Award-winner Mohanlal as Georgekutty. The first film in the series debuted in 2013.
The Drishyam series portrays Georgekutty and his family’s challenges as they fall under suspicion when the Inspector General’s son disappears.
The film’s tremendous success led to remakes in several languages: Kannada’s Drishya (2014) with Ravichandran, Telugu’s Drushyam (2014) starring Venkatesh, Tamil’s Papanasam (2015) with Kamal Haasan, Hindi’s Drishyam (2015) featuring Ajay Devgn, and Sinhala’s Dharmayuddhaya (2017) starring Jackson Anthony.
