The UAE’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has revoked the recognition of all degrees from Midocean University, which maintains an executive office in Fujairah.
This decision follows a compliance inspection conducted jointly with the Fujairah Free Zone Authority (FFZA). Officials discovered significant breaches in the university’s operational practices and academic program delivery, as well as a failure to meet national standards.

Inspection reveals serious compliance issues
The investigation highlighted severe violations in the university’s operational processes, academic program controls, and compliance with national standards.
The Ministry reported that Midocean University’s executive office in Fujairah provided registration services and conducted educational programs without the required accreditation. Inspectors found the institution engaged in activities “inconsistent with the regulations governing higher education institutions.”
These activities included offering online academic programs without an adequate quality-assurance system, along with significant mismatches between student data and program details as observed onsite. The degree of this mismatch raised additional concerns about the reliability and transparency of its academic records.
Following the review, MoHESR conducted a comprehensive verification and technical assessment. Based on this evaluation, the Ministry decided to revoke recognition of all qualifications from the university, updating its status to “not accredited” on official lists.
Ministry emphasizes student and academic protection
Officials stated that this measure is crucial to protect students and the academic community. The Ministry reinforced its commitment to ensuring educational institutions comply with regulations to maintain a trusted learning environment and prevent unlicensed or deceptive educational activities.
The Ministry also advised students and parents to verify the licensing and accreditation of academic institutions and their programs before enrolling.
