The Israeli channel “i24NEWS” reported on Wednesday evening that Morocco will resume flights with Israel starting Thursday for the first time since Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” announced by Hamas on October 7, 2023. The channel explained that “Morocco will allow Israeli citizens to enter the country, with flights resuming from Thursday, making Morocco the first Islamic state to resume flights to Israel since the outbreak of the war.” The channel noted that this decision came after talks between Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev and Moroccan Transport Minister Abdelkader Amara, with official permission from the civil aviation authorities of both countries.
It is noted that direct flights between the two sides had stopped since the beginning of the Israeli war on Gaza due to the increased travel warning to Morocco, prompting Israeli and Moroccan airlines to suspend operations on the route.
It is also noted that on October 9, 2025, former US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and the Palestinian Hamas had reached an agreement to implement the first phase of the “Peace Plan,” aimed at ending the two-year-long armed conflict in the Gaza Strip. Trump’s plan, proposed on September 29, 2025, includes 20 provisions, the most prominent of which is an immediate ceasefire in exchange for the release of hostages within 72 hours and the formation of a technocratic administration under international supervision led by Trump himself, without the participation of Hamas or other Palestinian factions in governance.
