The decision came following an evaluative visit in September, during which the agency considered that the improvement in national economic indicators and structural reforms justified the upgrade. This is the second achievement in less than two years, after Standard & Poor’s raised the rating outlook from “stable” to “positive” in March 2024, paving the way for the restoration of the investment grade, according to the Moroccan newspaper Hespress.
The new rating grants Morocco tangible benefits, most notably enhancing investor confidence and facilitating access to financial markets under better terms, which reduces borrowing costs and increases the kingdom’s attractiveness to foreign capital.
Analysts expect this achievement to support major projects, especially preparations to host the “2030 World Cup,” including stadiums, infrastructure, hotels, and tourist facilities, thus enhancing Morocco’s position as a promising and stable investment destination.
