Wahbi explained, in statements reported by Western media, that these committees will be chaired by public prosecutors and will work in coordination with judicial and security agencies, noting the review of previous experiences in global and Olympic tournaments to enhance preparations.

He added that Morocco will sign a judicial cooperation agreement with Spain and Portugal to expedite extradition or deportation processes and exchange legal assistance, alongside legislative reforms including the review of family law and criminal law, and the adoption of alternatives to penalties such as electronic bracelets to reduce prison overcrowding.

Regarding fan zones, Moroccan Justice Minister Abdelatif Wahbi confirmed that discussions are underway on regulatory frameworks allowing the consumption of alcoholic beverages in specific areas under clear conditions, with the provision of multilingual judicial centers and training of judges specialized in sports and tourism.

Wahbi emphasized that the “2030 World Cup” will be a major sporting event and an opportunity to showcase the legal and infrastructure updates Morocco is witnessing, including the construction of new stadiums, the expansion of railway networks and airports, and the increase in hotel capacity.

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) officially announced in December 2024 that Spain, Morocco, and Portugal will host the 2030 World Cup finals in their joint bid.
