In statements reported by the Israeli ‘Jerusalem Post’, he pointed out the existence of ‘various plans to rehabilitate Gaza, but half of its residents want to leave,’ according to him. He affirmed that the right to leave the Gaza Strip is ‘a fundamental right for every Palestinian.’

Netanyahu continued by saying that ‘the change in Washington should be welcomed,’ highlighting the differences in policies toward Israel between the administration of former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden. He stated: ‘We are not here to expel the Palestinians, but we will not grant them a state.’

Netanyahu confirmed that ‘Israel is a haven for all Jews around the world who face anti-Semitism.’ He claimed that ‘the sooner we end the war between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement in Gaza, the propaganda war against Israel and the Israeli army will also fade away.’

Israel resumed its bombing of the Gaza Strip on March 18, after a nearly two-month pause, specifically since the ceasefire agreement with the Hamas movement came into effect on January 19, following stalled negotiations to extend the first phase of the agreement or move to its second phase.

The ceasefire agreement between Israel was supposed to continue once the first phase, which ended on March 1, was extended, or enter its second phase. However, disagreements between Israel and Hamas regarding the next steps prevented this.

For his part, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed Moscow’s concern over the escalation in the Gaza Strip and the casualties among civilians, affirming that Moscow is closely monitoring the situation and looks forward to returning to the path of peace.
