NMC Healthcare, a top private healthcare provider in the UAE, has proudly secured the prestigious Enterprise Accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI), highlighting excellence across all its 80+ UAE facilities. NMC is the first global provider accredited under JCI’s ‘Continuous’ Survey methodology.
The JCI, a US-based non-profit, accredits healthcare organizations worldwide. Its Enterprise Accreditation evaluates governance, policies, and procedures across multi-facility systems, ensuring all NMC facilities maintain high standards of patient care and operational efficiency.
NMC is the third UAE healthcare provider and one of only 13 globally to receive this accreditation. Over two months, JCI conducted 12 surveys over 133 surveyor days, involving 11,000 NMC employees. This was the largest accreditation effort in NMC’s 50-year history, spanning all UAE facilities.
Several facility groups achieved outstanding results, showing preparedness and adherence to international patient safety and care quality standards. The Continuous Survey method saved 95 survey days compared to traditional models, boosting efficiency. It also unified thousands of local policies into group-wide standards, ensuring consistent safety, governance, and documentation.
This Enterprise Accreditation builds on individual JCI accreditations already earned by NMC hospitals and centers in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah, now extending to Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah. By maintaining quality accreditations, NMC aligns with the UAE’s vision for a high-quality, accessible healthcare system.
David Hadley, CEO of NMC Healthcare, said: “We’re thrilled to achieve the JCI Enterprise Accreditation, proving our commitment to top-tier care and patient safety across our 80+ UAE facilities. This achievement supports NMC’s strategy for operational improvements, enhancing patient experiences and growth. My gratitude goes to everyone who contributed to this success.”
JCI is the global leader in healthcare accreditation, trusted by over 24,000 organizations to uphold standards that enhance patient outcomes. To receive the JCI Enterprise Accreditation, organizations must undergo a rigorous process involving governance preparation, policy standardization, facility inspection, and ongoing compliance.
