Python Snake Found in Man’s Pocket Surprises Police

The Turkish newspaper ‘Zaman’ reported on Wednesday that the snake is a small-sized ‘Python’ and noted that its discovery inside the man’s pocket surprised the police officers. According to the newspaper, the snake was confiscated, and the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks in Turkey was informed. A specialized team was sent to the location, while an administrative fine was imposed on the violator. Hunting or keeping wild animals without a license or selling them is an offense punishable by Turkish law.

The newspaper mentioned that the snake was immediately transferred to the Karatay Municipality Park, where veterinarians conducted a thorough examination and confirmed that it is in good health. One of the veterinarians stated that this snake belongs to a non-venomous royal species that feeds by constricting its prey before consuming it and lives in rural African areas.
