Al-Tamimi stated to ‘Sputnik’ that “Oil companies will resume production starting tomorrow (Saturday). Seiyun International Airport was halted for just one day and then resumed its full local and international flight operations. Electricity has also returned to several areas, as gangs were disrupting the supply of fuel to power plants, some of which operate on mazut and diesel. Once the lawbreakers were removed, the situation returned to normal.” It is noted that the coastal areas of Hadhramaut in southeastern Yemen are experiencing political tension involving the so-called ‘Hadhramaut Tribal Alliance’, which calls for self-rule for the province, amid increasing concerns about escalating tensions in one of the most important oil-rich provinces bordering the Arabian Sea and Saudi Arabia.
