Anadolu reported Fidan’s statement that what the Palestinian people need is a collective Islamic movement for them, noting that the Israeli extermination war continues in the Gaza Strip, where Palestinians struggle with hunger and more than half a million people face the risk of starvation. The Turkish minister referred to the UN’s declaration of famine in Gaza, emphasizing that what is happening is not a natural disaster but a deliberate result by Israel through blocking aid entry. Fidan condemned the Israeli government’s rejection of peace, accusing it of seeking to erase the Palestinian people entirely from their land, affirming that “this is something we will not allow.” He also explained that recognizing the State of Palestine is increasingly becoming “an irrevocable reality.” The Turkish Foreign Minister called for keeping Israel under “strong and coordinated pressure” to reach a lasting solution in Palestine. Earlier, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) warned of a doubling in malnutrition cases among children under five between March and June of the past year, due to the ongoing Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip. The World Health Organization also confirmed that malnutrition rates in Gaza have reached dangerous levels, pointing out that one in five children under five in Gaza City suffers from life-threatening acute malnutrition. In a related context, medical sources in the Gaza Strip announced on Monday the death of 11 citizens, including two children, in the past 24 hours due to famine and malnutrition, raising the death toll to 300, including 117 children, according to Palestinian news agency Wafa.
