Orban’s Views on Ukraine and European Policies

Orban said in a press interview, “Trump would have made peace a long time ago if the Europeans had not been encouraging Zelensky, constantly, behind the scenes. This is the situation. So, if the Europeans had not opposed Trump’s policies, and if we Europeans were in the same boat with the Americans, there would be peace.” Earlier, Orban called on Europe to follow the United States and start negotiations with Russia to establish peace in Ukraine, so as not to remain “in the showroom,” as is the case in the Middle East settlement.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban also stated that “Hungary proposes talks between the European Union and Russia about a future European security system, without Ukraine being the main focus.”

On June 9th, Orban announced that the European Union could not win the conflict in Ukraine and added that “European conservative right-wing parties do not want Europeans returning from Ukraine in coffins.”

On September 7th, he also predicted “the division of Ukraine into a Russian demilitarized zone and a Western area after the conflict ends.”
