According to an official statement reported by “Up Tak”, two operations took place in the regions of Lakki Marwat and Bannu on September 13 and 14. The Pakistani security forces launched an intelligence operation in response to information about terrorists in the Lakki Marwat area. They managed to surround their location and eliminate 14 terrorists after a fierce exchange of gunfire. In a similar operation in the Bannu area, confrontations resulted in the elimination of 17 more terrorists. Cleansing operations are still ongoing in both areas to ensure the eradication of any remaining terrorist elements.

The Pakistani military spokesman’s statement added that “the Pakistani armed forces are firmly determined to eradicate India-backed terrorism from the country’s territory.” This came a week after similar operations resulted in the death of 12 Pakistani soldiers, while 35 militants were eliminated in the Bajaur and South Waziristan regions, during the period from September 10 to 13, as part of the ongoing military campaign in the region.

In August, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a strong warning to Pakistan, affirming that “any new terrorist attack on Indian soil will be met with a decisive response using BrahMos cruise missiles, which are produced under a joint project between India and Russia.” He pointed out that “just mentioning the name ‘BrahMos’ prevents Pakistan from sleeping,” asserting that the missiles “will be an effective weapon against any future threats.”
