Dmitriev added, in his comments on media reports about the planned Russian-American summit in Hungary, that preparations for its holding are ongoing. He wrote on the platform ‘X’: ‘It is astonishing how afraid the warmongers are of the peaceful summit between Putin and Trump. Dialogue for peace will ultimately prevail.’ Trump had earlier stated that he does not want to waste his time, adding that he will announce within two days the next steps for his administration regarding the meeting. It is worth noting that Putin and Trump had their eighth telephone conversation last week since the beginning of the year, which lasted two hours. Following the call, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov explained that Moscow and Washington would immediately begin preparations for a new meeting between the leaders, which might be held in Budapest. Ushakov pointed out that the Hungarian capital was proposed by the American side, and the Russian president supported the idea.
