Al-Habbash stated to the agency: “President Mahmoud Abbas plans to attend the Russian-Arab summit, and we strongly hope that this summit will contribute to strengthening relations between Russia and the Arab world.” He added that the summit will also enhance support in light of the strong partnership that Russia has with Arab and Islamic countries.
In this context, the Palestinian president’s advisor said that Russia provides diverse and multi-dimensional support to the Palestinian people, including financial, technical, agricultural, and humanitarian fields, in addition to emergency aid.
Al-Habbash explained: He recalled Russia’s recent initiative, which involved sending aid, ordered by President Mahmoud Abbas, to direct it to the Gaza Strip amidst the escalating famine there and the rising number of deaths due to the shortage of daily food rations.
He added: The Kremlin announced last May that Russian President Vladimir Putin extended an invitation to Arab leaders and the Secretary-General of the Arab League to participate in the first Russian-Arab summit, scheduled for October 15.
