Berlin – Sputnik. The Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance Party, Reason and Justice, organized the demonstration at the Brandenburg Gate, where protesters criticized Germany’s policy towards Ukraine and the Middle East. The protest was attended by the party’s co-founder, Sahra Wagenknecht, along with several German cultural figures. The protest slogan was “Stop the Genocide in Gaza! No Weapons in War Zones!”. Several speakers addressed the crowd from the Brandenburg Gate platform, including Israeli historian Moshe Zuckermann, who spoke to protesters from Tel Aviv, criticizing military operations in the Gaza Strip. Roger Waters, co-founder and bassist of Pink Floyd, also joined the protest via video link. In addition to calling for an end to all German arms shipments to war zones, the organizers urge the German government to “participate honestly and seriously in peace negotiations.” They oppose the resumption of conscription and the deployment of U.S. medium-range missiles in Germany.
