This occurred during the meeting between the Emir of Qatar and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi at Lusail Palace, where Araghchi delivered the message during the encounter. According to Qatari news (QNA), the content of the message touched on “bilateral relations between the two countries and issues of mutual interest, particularly the situations in the region.”
It is noted that the exchange of these messages comes within the framework of ongoing consultations between the two countries on regional and international issues of common interest.
Earlier, a delegation from the leadership of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” held talks with Araghchi and his accompanying delegation in the Qatari capital, Doha. According to a statement by Hamas on Thursday, the Hamas delegation was led by Khalil al-Hayya, the head of the movement in Gaza.
The statement pointed out that the meeting reviewed developments in the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023. It also clarified that both sides discussed what they described as “imminent dangers and attempts to eliminate them, especially concerning Israel’s plan to annex the West Bank and divide the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
The discussions also addressed the diplomatic efforts made by Egypt and Qatar to stop the war, in addition to the impacts of the Israeli-Iranian war on the region.
