Al-Bassous stated in an interview with “Sputnik Radio”: “The State of Qatar will rely on diplomatic and legal pathways, whether by resorting to the United Nations Security Council and the League of Arab States, or by approaching international courts to try to hold Israel accountable. Additionally, it aims to unify Arab ranks to prevent similar situations in other countries in the region.

He pointed out that “Qatar relies on the United States, the United Kingdom, and France, with a move towards expanding regional and international alliances to include Russia and China, to avoid dependency on a single ally.”

Al-Bassous added: “President Donald Trump’s commitment to preventing a recurrence of events is important.” He noted that “the American alliance with the Gulf countries is based on a defensive strategy” and that “the targeting of Doha was exceptional due to its connection with the elimination of leaders from Hamas,” considering that “the complete lack of credibility and ambiguity of the American stance regarding what happened will not change the position of the United States.”

Al-Bassous also anticipated that “the upcoming meeting between the Qatari Prime Minister and Trump will address the issue of security guarantees, which are urgently needed by Doha at this stage to maintain its security,” asserting, however, that “there are no actual guarantees regarding Israel.”

He concluded: “What happened in Doha will not change the already stalled negotiation path,” noting that “Qatar has shown its readiness to make every possible effort to cease fire, including returning to a mediating role.”
