In a speech, Nakhalah stated that “the resistance has shown readiness to negotiate on terms that can be positively engaged with, and the first is the exchange of prisoners.” He added that “the prisoner exchange clause can be accomplished in the coming days, thus defusing tensions and justifications for aggression.” He emphasized “the necessity for the enemy and its allies to know that we cannot surrender to their conditions and dictates after all this cost,” pointing out that “if the enemy insists on achieving in negotiations what it could not achieve through war, we must stand firm.
Indirect negotiations have been taking place in the Egyptian capital since last Monday between the delegations of Hamas and Israel, with the participation of mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. These developments come days after Hamas announced its acceptance of the principle of the American initiative and the confirmation of support from several Western and Arab capitals for Trump’s efforts to reach a comprehensive settlement.
