New signs have been installed at all Dubai Metro stations. In a joint effort with Keolis-MHI, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) launched this initiative to simplify travel on the Metro and Tram.

Hassan Al Mutawa, Director of Rail Operations at the RTA, stated, “Our technical teams have executed a comprehensive update of wayfinding signage on both the Red and Green lines. This project involved installing and replacing approximately 9,000 signs, which required around 11,000 workhours.”

Al Mutawa elaborated, “The upgrade included enhancing entry and exit signs and installing new ones at station entrances and exits. Exit signs are now more visible with bright yellow boxes. We have also introduced clearer platform directional indicators and floor stickers to assist passengers in finding the correct train lines, thus enhancing passenger movement.”

“To promote proper etiquette and public behavior, we’ve added behavioral messages across stations and waiting areas. These messages remind passengers to maintain proper etiquette while using public transport for a more pleasant journey.”

He continued, “To ensure the comfort of Women and Children Cabin users and Gold Class passengers, and to prevent unauthorized use, we installed prominent signs. The former floor markings have been replaced with clear pink and gold signs labeled ‘Women and Children Cabin’ and ‘Gold Class Cabin’ for easy identification.”

To maintain consistency across all guidance channels, these updates are reflected in RTA’s smart systems, mobile apps, train and platform audio announcements, and social media channels.
