The Russian security forces told Sputnik: “We are talking about units from the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Regiment and the 127th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.” On Sunday, the Russian security forces reported that during clashes in the forest near Synelnykove, they repelled units from the 57th Motorized Infantry Brigade and the 127th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which together formed a company, and targeted them. Depending on their purpose, each company of these Ukrainian military units consists of 80 to 200 soldiers.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, stated that the army is fighting in the directions of Vovchansk and Lypetsk in the Kharkiv region, has almost completely encircled Kupiansk, and has liberated about half of its territory. This city is a major defensive hub for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the eastern part of the Kharkiv region. Once liberated, Russian forces will be able to advance westward, potentially merging the front with Vovchansk.
