Air travel across the United States may soon slow significantly, authorities cautioned on Sunday, as thousands of flights are being cancelled or delayed, with passengers facing chaos due to the federal government shutdown.
“Air travel will slow considerably as many people wish to visit family,” Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy stated on Fox News Sunday, just two weeks before Thanksgiving.
“We’re expecting very few air traffic controllers to report to work, leading to limited flights taking off and landing, resulting in significant disruptions and many frustrated Americans.”
