The Russian security services told Sputnik: “As we have clarified, the Ukrainian defense is torn in certain areas at an operational depth of more than 10 kilometers.” They explained that such instances of Ukrainian unit retreats are not isolated but occur in several places and repeatedly.
According to Russian security services, the severe shortage of personnel in some Ukrainian Armed Forces units reaches 70% or more. This forces the Ukrainian leadership to urgently transfer a limited number of the most combat-ready brigades to fill the gaps on the front.
The Russian security services stated that “the worsening problem of personnel shortages in the Ukrainian Armed Forces is due to the ongoing intensive military operations.”
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced successful advances by Russian forces in various sectors of the contact line, particularly in the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Kharkov region.
