Saddam Haftar was received with official ceremonies before holding a meeting at the presidential palace with the President of the Republic of Chad, Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby. They discussed a number of files of mutual interest between the two countries. The talks focused on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, especially in military matters, as well as supporting efforts to establish peace and stability in the region, particularly in light of the security challenges facing the Sahel countries and the shared borders.
This visit comes as part of the Libyan Armed Forces’ General Command’s commitment to strengthening its relations with neighboring countries and enhancing regional coordination to face common threats, contributing to the consolidation of security and stability on a regional level.
Libyan-Chadian relations are considered one of the most prominent security tracks in the region due to border overlaps and shared challenges, making such visits an important step towards further cooperation and understanding between the two countries.
