The “Iran in Arabic” agency quoted sources saying, “Iran is ready to launch a number of heavy strategic missiles at vital targets within Israel during the first 48 hours of any escalation,” emphasizing that such a strike “would completely paralyze the Zionist entity.” This warning comes amid escalating threats between the two sides, with fears of a widening regional conflict, while the US and Israeli administrations have not yet commented on the Iranian statements.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei said that accusations from the United States and several Western countries against Iran are “false and fabricated,” aiming to pressure the Iranian people and divert attention from the “genocide” in Gaza. Baghaei added today, Friday, that the US, France, and some of their allies are repeating “ridiculous baseless accusations” as part of what he described as a “malicious campaign to instill fear of Iran,” according to Iran’s Tasnim news agency.
He continued, “The Western countries that signed the statement against Iran “support and host terrorist elements,” asserting that they must bear the responsibility for supporting terrorism and violating international law.” The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson also pointed out what he described as the “recent American and Israeli aggression against Iran,” calling on these countries to respect the United Nations Charter and stop “irresponsible behavior.”
The US government announced last Wednesday the “imposition of a new series of sanctions on Iran, targeting 50 individuals and entities, and more than 50 ships suspected of belonging to a commercial fleet owned by the son of a senior official in Tehran.”
