Emirati entrepreneur and Real Housewives of Dubai star Sara Al Madani has captured social media’s attention with a cryptic quote from a recent interview.
“Don’t love your job, job your love” has ignited a global meme trend, with TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter bursting with parodies and discussions. But what did she really mean?
Sara explained that the phrase wasn’t hers originally; she first heard it from her friend Mohd Hilal, who owns the Mohd Hilal Group.

The concept, she clarified, isn’t about settling for a job and trying to love it but about turning your passions into your career.
“Initially, it seemed confusing, but then I got it. You shouldn’t just accept a job and force yourself to love it. Instead, take what you love and ‘job’ it, make it your business. Work for what you love instead of loving what you work for,” she told Khaleej Times.
The message was meant to promote entrepreneurship and passion, yet the quirky wording took on a life of its own. By then, the internet had embraced it. One TikToker joked: “Don’t eat your food, food your eat!” Another added: “My brain just quit its job trying to understand this.” Instagram reels exploded with spoofs like “Don’t face your fear, fear your face,” while Vishen Lakhiani’s enthusiastic “I love that!” response in the original clip became meme material.
Sara, who frequently uses her platform to challenge stereotypes about Arab women and highlight entrepreneurship, enjoyed the humorous reactions. “I love how creative people are,” she remarked. “But seriously, it’s about building a career around what excites you, not forcing yourself into a role that doesn’t.”
The comedic wave quickly grew. A local comedian’s parody about “jobbing his love” for napping by pitching himself as a professional sleeper gathered over 100,000 views. This isn’t Sara’s first experience with going viral. Her Real Housewives Season 2 storyline involving a leaked voice note generated similar buzz before she clarified the situation.
