Ship Incident Reported 110 Miles Offshore

Ambrey reported that it received reports about the incident which occurred 110 nautical miles away, noting that the ship’s captain reported seeing an impact in the water and columns of smoke rising at a distance from the ship, according to American media. The company did not provide additional details about the nature of the attack or the party responsible, while Yemeni and Dutch authorities have not yet issued an immediate comment on the incident.

The Yemeni group Ansar Allah has been launching attacks on ships related to the United States and Britain in the Red Sea since November 2023, in response to the Israeli war in the Gaza Strip.

Since September 2014, Ansar Allah has controlled most of the provinces in central and northern Yemen, including the capital, Sanaa. An Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia launched military operations on March 26, 2015, in support of the Yemeni army to regain these areas from the group’s control.
