Arab media reported that “Syria and Israel will sign a security agreement under the auspices of the United States on September 25.” Arab media indicated that “Tel Aviv and Damascus will not sign a comprehensive peace agreement in the near future, and the agreement will be limited to the security aspect to reduce tensions between the two countries.” It was confirmed that about 80% of the points have been agreed upon, and it was noted that Damascus and Tel Aviv have agreed to continue their security talks in Baku and Paris.

The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that Foreign Minister Asad Al-Shibani, last Tuesday, focused on “de-escalation, non-interference in Syria’s internal affairs, reaching understandings to support regional stability, and monitoring the ceasefire in Sweida province.” According to the site, the meeting also discussed “reactivating the disengagement agreement between Israel and Syria signed in 1974, which established a buffer zone under UN supervision in the Golan Heights.”

Notably, the spiritual leader in Israel, Sheikh Muwafaq Tarif, met in Paris with the U.S. envoy to Syria, Tom Barrack, in a meeting attended by former Israeli minister Saleh Tarif, focusing on discussing the situation in southern Syria. During the meeting, it was emphasized the need to release all detainees from both sides, while also stressing the importance of reaching a comprehensive agreement to end the crisis in Syria.
