Taylor Swift has officially debunked the rumors of her appearing as a bear in Happy Gilmore 2 during her guest appearance on the New Heights podcast hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce.
When Jason inquired if Swift could “confirm or deny” the buzz, she responded, “I can deny!”
Swift explained, “This is one of those rumors we joke about. I’ll say, ‘Did you hear I was the bear?’ and he’ll reply, ‘Yeah, and did you hear we bought a house in Lake Como?’ It’s amusing how they assume I’m in a bear costume,” she said, as reported by People.
Swift expressed, “I’m flattered they think of me in that way because I adore that movie. I’ve watched it so many times,” she confessed.
In July, Taylor Swift openly supported her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s acting debut in the Netflix release Happy Gilmore 2, according to People.
The NFL star appears as a waiter in the 2025 sports comedy sequel to the 1996 classic Happy Gilmore. Swift shared her enthusiasm with her 280 million Instagram followers, promoting the film.
“Happy Gilmore 2 had me laughing and cheering from start to finish. It’s a must-watch,” Swift posted in her Instagram Story, alongside the film’s poster.
Happy Gilmore 2, directed by Kyle Newacheck and penned by Tim Herlihy and Adam Sandler, is a 2025 sports comedy sequel to the original 1996 film. Adam Sandler, Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, Ben Stiller, and Dennis Dugan return, with Benny Safdie and Bad Bunny joining the cast.
Swift announced her upcoming 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, via a clip posted on the podcast’s Instagram before the episode aired.
