At a press conference in Budapest, Szijjártó stated: “Regarding compulsory recruitment, I can say it is a well-known fact. Not only in Hungary, nor in Ukraine, but worldwide. It is generally accepted that there is an open hunt for people in Ukraine and that there is forced conscription.
He continued: “Everyone knows that during this compulsory recruitment, people are often beaten, and in some cases, beaten to death. They are able to do this because, according to pro-war European politicians, Ukraine is allowed to do whatever it wants in this situation.
According to him, “the greatest disgrace in Europe in the 21st century is precisely that, in the heart of Europe, people are hunted down and beaten, sometimes beaten to death, under the pretext of mobilization.
The minister affirmed, “I believe that, in addition to the specific perpetrators, all those politicians in Brussels who turn a blind eye to these crimes are also responsible.
In April, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense acknowledged the problem of forced mobilization and the shortage of military personnel in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, stating that the ministry is trying to solve it by recruiting young people and foreign mercenaries.
