This morning, Thursday, the energy sector reported that the list of the top 5 oil deals in August 2025 showed a notable presence of Arab companies, whether through ADNOC in the UAE, ADES in Saudi Arabia, or Offshore Drilling in Egypt. The platform confirmed that these oil deals reflect a clear dynamism in the oil sector and indicate that the coming months may witness more similar movements, which enhances market stability and stimulates global investments in oil and gas.

The biggest agreements included oil and gas exploration and extension contracts, as well as the development deal for the Bu Hasa oil field between the UAE and China and an agreement to extend drilling contracts in Saudi Arabia. Egypt topped the list of the top 5 oil deals in August 2025, thanks to 4 agreements signed with global companies, which aimed to drill 10 new wells, supporting oil and gas exploration efforts in Egyptian provinces.

The first deal in Egypt was between EGAS and the global company Shell in the Mediterranean’s Mernith offshore area, and the second was in the East Port Said offshore area in the Mediterranean with the Italian company Eni. The third agreement focused on the North El-Khattaba area in the Nile Delta, signed with the Russian company Zarubezhneft, and the fourth agreement was with the global company Arkeos Energy in the North Damietta offshore area.

Saudi Arabia concluded the list of the top 5 oil deals in August 2025 with a significant acquisition made by ADES of the Norwegian company Shelf Drilling, in a deal valued at about 379 million US dollars. This move represents a qualitative leap for ADES in the offshore drilling market. According to the new deal, the Saudi company will manage 83 offshore drilling rigs, making it one of the leading players globally in shallow water drilling services, as this acquisition is expected to enhance the company’s capabilities to expand into multiple markets.
