The newspaper “Bild” reported on Tuesday that the sky over the city of Aschaffenburg in the state of Bavaria was covered by a cloud suspected to be toxic, which formed following an incident at a nearby factory. According to the Main-Echo website, the police reported that four people were injured as a result of the incident, noting that the state of emergency imposed in the city was lifted on Tuesday evening after the situation was brought under control.
Reports indicate that the toxic gas leaked when a metal part fell into a basin containing nitric acid, causing a chemical reaction that led to the emission of the toxic cloud.
