Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce recently shared insights on life after football and his acting ventures on the New Heights with Jason & Travis Kelce podcast’s latest episode. The 36-year-old NFL tight end joined Hollywood actor George Clooney to talk about his role in Happy Gilmore 2 and future acting ambitions.

During the episode, Kelce reflected on his experience working with Adam Sandler on Happy Gilmore 2.

“Adam’s just the best, such a great guy,” Kelce told Clooney. “I’m forever grateful he let me be the waiter. But honestly, if you, George, had been the waiter, the movie might’ve been 10 times better,” he joked.

Clooney humorously replied, “I play a great waiter, you have no idea,” after admitting he wasn’t invited to appear in the golf comedy.

The Jay Kelly actor then asked Kelce, “So, when you retire, are you planning to dive into show business more?” as quoted by People.

“As long as legends like Adam Sandler ask me, I’ll jump at the chance,” Kelce responded. “I may not have much skill, but I’ll be the best teammate and have fun if you hire me, that’s guaranteed.”

Clooney encouraged, “That’s exciting, man. It’ll be fun.”

Kelce portrayed a hotel waiter in the Happy Gilmore 2 sequel, released on Netflix in July. The film follows Happy Gilmore returning to golf to fund his daughter’s ballet lessons after retiring.

Discussing Sandler, who returned as Gilmore, Clooney remarked, “He’s a great guy, so fun to work with. We’ve played basketball together for thirty years, and working with him was a blast.”

Travis also appeared as Ed Laclan in the FX series Grotesquerie.

Previously, the NFL star spoke about acting with Niecy Nash-Betts, his costar who plays Detective Lois Tryon. “I was watching myself closely, but it’s similar to my approach to football,” he explained.

Kelce added, “Even with the Amazon game show [Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?], I always think I could’ve done better.”
