Trump wrote in a post on the “Truth Social” platform: “I believe that Ukraine, with the support of Europe, can reclaim all of its original territories. With time, patience, and financial support from Europe, especially from NATO, restoring the original borders from which this war started is very possible.”
Trump clarified that his good relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin did not make a difference in resolving the conflict in Ukraine, contrary to what he expected, expressing his regret for that.
Trump said during a meeting with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York: “My biggest disappointment is the situation regarding Russia and Ukraine. I thought this conflict would be the easiest to settle because of my good relationship with Putin, but unfortunately, this relationship made no difference.”
He said during his meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly: “Russia has a massive military force. Many thought the conflict would end quickly.”
