Trump’s Envoys Aim for Real Deal in Cairo Talks

The American channel “Fox News” reported, citing sources inside the White House, that Trump clarified during his meeting in Washington with the American-Israeli soldier Idan Alexander and his family that “the ongoing negotiations in Cairo over the next 48 hours will be decisive in determining the fate of the final agreement.”

The channel added that Trump assigned his envoys to the negotiations, businessman Steve Witkoff and his former advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner, with the task of reaching a “real deal” between the two sides.

Indirect negotiations have been taking place in the Egyptian capital since Monday between the delegations of the “Hamas” movement and Israel, with the participation of mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, as part of the plan proposed by the American president to put an end to the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip for two years, release hostages, and begin the reconstruction phase.

These developments come days after “Hamas” announced its acceptance of the principle of the American initiative, and several Western and Arab capitals confirmed their support for Trump’s efforts to reach a comprehensive settlement.
