This was stated in a post on the ‘Truth Social’ platform today, Tuesday, where it mentioned that three people were killed, noting that they were attempting to transport drugs to Americans. Trump’s announcement about the recent strike comes after a previous strike by Washington at the beginning of the month, which resulted in 11 deaths according to the United States. Venezuela criticized the operation, describing it as aggression, while American lawmakers called for more transparency regarding the intelligence and legality on which the strikes were based for the use of force in international waters during peacetime.
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro accused the United States of launching an ‘attack’ on his country, denying that the recent events between the two countries were merely ‘tensions.’ Maduro explained during a press conference attended by senior military leaders and government officials that the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is trying to justify what he described as a ‘criminal attack’ by strengthening American presence in the southern Caribbean under the pretext of combating drug trafficking, according to Western media.
Last Monday, Maduro ordered the deployment of 25,000 armed forces personnel on the border with Colombia and on the Caribbean and Atlantic coasts of the republic to ‘protect national sovereignty and the country’s security.’
