Trump pointed out that this meeting, held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, was great and represents “the most important meeting I’ve ever had.” Trump revealed at the beginning of the meeting that “this meeting will be important, and we will discuss ending the war, and perhaps we will end it now.” The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, informed the American president during the meeting that the situation in the Gaza Strip is very bad.

White House spokeswoman, Caroline Levitt, told reporters on Monday that Trump will hold a meeting with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan. A source familiar with the matter said that the meeting will address the situation in Gaza. The Axios website reported earlier that Trump will present the leaders of these countries with a proposal for peace and the future governance of Gaza after the war.

The site also reported that the United States wants Arab and Islamic countries to agree to send military forces to Gaza to assist in Israel’s withdrawal and to provide Arab and Islamic funding for the transitional phase and reconstruction. The countries stated that a two-state solution is the only way to achieve peace, but Israel affirmed that “recognizing a Palestinian state is a reward for extremism.”

Trump stressed in his speech the need to end the war in Gaza immediately and release the remaining hostages. He said, “We must end the war in Gaza immediately, we must stop it, we must do it, we must start negotiations immediately, we must negotiate peace, we must release the hostages.”

Trump launched a sharp attack on the United Nations during his speech at the General Assembly on Tuesday, describing it as “not contributing to peace building,” and mocked the building it occupies in New York. He said, “The United Nations has tremendous capabilities, but it does not even come close to the required level,” pointing out that “he is in full shape unlike the United Nations, and his achievements surpass what the organization has provided over the years.”
