The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, in Brussels,” without revealing any additional details. Today, Thursday, the Associated Press reported, citing a senior American official, that discussions would continue in Miami.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted Jared Kushner, U.S. President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, at the Kremlin, where they held extensive talks described by both the Russian and American sides as positive and fruitful. The meeting was attended by Yuri Ushakov, the President’s Assistant, and Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian President’s Special Representative for Economic and Investment Cooperation with Foreign Countries and the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund.
The meeting lasted for 5 hours, and after its conclusion, Ushakov announced that no compromises had been reached so far. He noted that the discussion covered the issue of territories and the prospects for achieving a long-term peaceful settlement in Ukraine.
