Spanish publication “Mundo Deportivo” reported on Monday that the Real Madrid locker room was in turmoil, with players angrily throwing bottles and medical equipment, causing screens to break. Coach Xabi Alonso was unable to reach or speak to the players. Real Madrid had suffered a surprising defeat at their home stadium against Celta Vigo with a score of 2-0 last Sunday, as part of the fifteenth round of the Spanish Football League. The team has continued its modest performance in the last 5 rounds, achieving only one win, three draws, and one loss, thus freezing their score at 36 points, placing them in second position behind their traditional rival Barcelona, which leads with forty points.

The newspaper stated on its website that coach Xabi Alonso did not enter the locker room after the end of the match and wasn’t able to talk to the players, but he is scheduled to meet them today during training.

It is noteworthy that during the El Clasico match held last month in the tenth round of the Spanish League at Santiago Bernabéu, Brazilian star Vinicius Junior caused significant controversy following a decision to substitute him in the 71st minute. Vinicius expressed clear dissatisfaction with coach Xabi Alonso’s decision to replace him with Rodrygo, as he was seen expressing his anger while leaving the field. DAZN reported that “Vinicius muttered phrases reflecting his frustration, such as: ‘Why always me?’, adding angrily: ‘I will leave the team, it’s better for me to go.'” Footage showed him directing words of anger towards the sky, while Alonso tried to calm him down, and goalkeeping coach Luis Llopis also intervened to contain the situation by going to the locker room to talk with the player, who later returned to the bench.

In his post-match statements, the team coach confirmed that the incident would be handled internally, emphasizing that it would not be discussed publicly.
