The stolen items, misused as mind-altering substances, were taken without proper prescriptions.
The incident came to light when a pharmacy employee arrived at work to find the store had been broken into. She noticed the front door lock was forced, shelves were disorganized, and items were missing. She promptly informed her manager, who then contacted the police.

Dubai Police launched an investigation, examining surveillance footage and collecting evidence. It was discovered that the suspects broke in after midnight, exploiting the area’s minimal foot traffic.
The investigation confirmed the men stole prescription-restricted drugs, illegal to trade without proper authorization. A police alert led to the first suspect’s arrest.
During interrogation, he confessed to using the stolen drugs himself and identified his accomplice in the theft.
The second suspect, who initially denied involvement, was later arrested. Evidence and witness testimonies linked him to the crime, resulting in a court ruling against both men. This case underscores Dubai’s stringent enforcement of laws against the illegal handling of prescription drugs and misuse of controlled substances.
