This advisory coincides with plans by trade unions, campaign groups, and community organizations to hold counter-demonstrations in central London against far-right activist Tommy Robinson (Stephen Yaxley-Lennon). These protests, organized by groups like Stand Up to Racism, aim to challenge fascism, racism, and Islamophobia.
Robinson and his supporters are promoting their event as the UK’s “biggest free speech protest,” describing it as a day to “unite the kingdom.” However, critics argue that these rallies seek to rebrand far-right movements by manipulating public concerns about grooming gangs and falsely associating them with migrants.
Authorities predict large crowds in central London on Saturday, and citizens are advised to plan their travel accordingly and avoid protest areas whenever possible.
