The UAE has launched its first official regulated lottery, offering a ‘Lucky Day’ grand prize worth Dh100 million. The initial live draw is set for December 14.
The UAE Lottery is operated by The Game LLC, a company located in Abu Dhabi and licensed by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) as of July this year.

The lottery presents an “exciting variety of games” for UAE residents aged 18 and above. Participation requires players to be physically in the country.
Tickets can be purchased on The UAE Lottery’s website, theuaelottery.ae. Alongside the Dh100-million ‘Lucky Day’ jackpot, seven ‘Lucky Chance IDs’ are guaranteed to win Dh100,000 each. Entry costs Dh50.
Prizes range from Dh100 million to Dh100 based on matched numbers. Participants can pick their own numbers or use the ‘Easy Pick’ feature for random selection.
Scratch cards are also available, offering up to Dh1 million. Prices start at Dh5, with potential winnings of up to Dh50,000. Dh10 cards offer a top prize of Dh100,000, while Dh20 cards offer Dh300,000. Cards priced at Dh50 can win Dh1 million.
Currently, prizes are tax-free.
To play, participants must create an online account. Offline purchase options are not yet available but may be introduced soon by The Game.
The UAE Lottery uses “advanced technology and expert global gaming knowledge” to ensure a “safe, responsible, and compliant lottery experience.”
Before the GCGRA’s establishment, many gaming and lottery firms operated in the UAE. Most ceased operations in early 2024 and applied for a UAE lottery license, awarded to The Game in July.
Bishop Woosley, director of Lottery Operations at The Game, stated: “We strive to create thrilling experiences while advocating for responsible gaming. After a comprehensive GCGRA evaluation, we are dedicated to maintaining global standards for fairness and transparency from draws to winner selection.”
Upon awarding the license to The Game, Jim Murren, chairman of the GCGRA, remarked that this step “establishes a world-class regulatory framework for lottery activities and emphasizes our dedication to a secure and prosperous commercial gaming environment in the UAE.”
The GCGRA developed a “comprehensive” regulatory framework to protect consumers.
“Engaging in unauthorized commercial gaming in the UAE is illegal and subject to severe penalties. Playing via unlicensed operators is also illegal under GCGRA regulations,” the authority stated.
