In a groundbreaking move, a new initiative aimed at cultivating future-ready leaders within the government, in collaboration with premier academic institutions globally, has been introduced.
The ‘Mohammed bin Rashid Government Fellowships’ are more than educational programs; they represent strategic investments in the UAE’s human capital, crucial for the nation’s future.
“This initiative paves the way for a brighter future, ensuring enduring prosperity for our nation and its citizens,” stated Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs.

The initiative starts with two specialized master’s degrees: Economic Strategies and International Policy, and Artificial Intelligence for the Government Sector.
These programs will be offered in partnership with world-renowned universities celebrated for their excellence in academia and public sector innovation, chosen based on the 2026 global university rankings and their track record in executive education.
In the initial phase, exceptional Emirati government professionals from across the nation will be selected to enroll in the program. Participants will be equally split between the two educational tracks.
Partner institutions include:
• Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (50 fellows)
• University of Oxford (25 fellows)
• Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (25 fellows)
• New York University (40 fellows)
• Georgetown University (60 fellows)
Graduates will gain advanced skills in economic policy, international strategy, and applied AI for the public sector, empowering them to craft innovative policies, lead digital transformations, and boost the UAE’s global competitiveness.
Participants will be evenly distributed between the two study areas: 100 fellows in economic strategy and international policy, and 100 in artificial intelligence for the public sector.
Al Gergawi emphasized that maintaining the UAE’s position as a leader in government transformation and sustainable development necessitates ongoing investment in its people, especially in critical future fields like international policy, economic strategy, and artificial intelligence. These areas are vital for accelerating national development, modernizing public sector operations, and enhancing the UAE’s global standing.
