In a landmark development for the digital finance scene, O Gold, the UAE’s pioneering Emirati app for fractional gold and silver ownership, has joined forces with Botim, Astra Tech’s leading AI-driven fintech and communication platform, to introduce the first integrated gold investment feature in the Middle East and North Africa.

Following a 2023 agreement, Botim becomes the premier fintech ecosystem in the MENA region enabling gold investments directly via its app. With over 8.5 million active users in the UAE, Botim’s venture into digital gold trading is a pivotal step in the country’s ambition to become a global leader in innovative financial services.

Through this collaboration, users can now engage in buying, selling, and managing digital gold starting at 0.1 grams, breaking down traditional entry barriers. The integration also includes O Gold’s gold earning (leasing) program, offering an annual yield of 3% in gold grams, aligned with international gold lease rates.

“Gold holds profound cultural, historical, and economic importance here. Our launch simplifies and secures fractional gold investment for everyone,” said Ahmed Mourad, COO of Astra Tech | Botim. “It demonstrates our commitment to innovation, providing over 8 million UAE residents with more accessible wealth management options.”

O Gold’s model has seen robust acceptance. Since its inception this year, it has gained over 100,000 users, evidencing demand for flexible, Shariah-compliant gold investment solutions. The platform recently earned certification from the Center of Islamic Banking and Economics (CIBE), affirming its dedication to ethical finance.

“Our goal as an Emirati-founded company is to simplify and secure precious metal ownership for all,” said O Gold’s founder, Bandar Alothman. “By teaming up with Botim and utilizing its integrated payment system, we can connect with millions, enabling effortless gold investment. This revolutionizes access to one of the world’s most reliable assets.”

The UAE continues to grow its influence in the global gold market. According to TradeImeX, the nation recorded $53.41 billion in gold exports in 2024–2025, highlighting its emergence as a key player in the precious metals industry. The launch of fractional ownership via Botim reinforces this status, providing secure, accessible investment options to a broader audience.

The gold investment feature is now live and accessible in the Botim Invest section of the app.
