Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergiy Kyslytsya, stated in an interview with a Ukrainian media outlet: “Since the peace negotiations this year ended with little progress, they have been suspended.”
Earlier today, Russian presidential spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, stated that Russia remains ready to continue negotiating on Ukraine. Peskov told reporters: “We are still open to the negotiation process, and a negotiation process cannot be conducted alone due to the Kyiv regime’s refusal to discuss anything or answer the posed questions.”
Peskov explained that Europeans seem inclined to encourage Kyiv to continue the war, while the United States tends to be more cautious. These meetings resulted in a prisoner exchange and Moscow handing over the bodies of its soldiers to the Kyiv regime.
Additionally, the two parties exchanged draft memorandums on conflict resolution. It is noted that they arrived in Istanbul on May 15, but no communications were held between the two countries. The meeting was held the following day and lasted about two hours.
