In his speech at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, he stated that the “extremist Israeli government is proceeding with annexation and settlement projects in Jerusalem and the West Bank,” strongly rejecting the idea of a “Greater Israel,” which implies expansion at the expense of sovereign states.

He pointed out that more than 7 million Palestinians have been displaced since 1948, and that his people live under occupation, settlement, and the plundering of land and money. He noted that Israel has destroyed more than 80% of the infrastructure in the Gaza Strip in a documented war crime that will be recorded in history.

He also emphasized that “Gaza is an integral part of the State of Palestine, and that the Palestinian leadership is ready to take full responsibility for governance there,” accusing Israel of failing to comply with signed agreements and systematically undermining them.

In concluding his speech, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas expressed the Palestinian people’s appreciation for all the countries that have recognized or intend to recognize the State of Palestine.

From October 7, 2023, until September 18, more than 65,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 167,000 injured in Gaza, according to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.

It is noteworthy that Israel’s plan to control the city, known as “Gideon’s Chariots 2,” includes the forcible displacement of about one million Palestinians to the southern sector, which has led to widespread international criticism of Israel, which continues to prepare for the plan despite all warnings.
